Agreement between the Russian government and the Central Bank on the acceptance of Crypto as a Currency.

 

Russia treat Cryptocurrency as a Currency:-

Russia may become the latest country to recognise Cryptocurrency as a form of currency as the government and the Country's central bank have reached an agreement on how to regulate the digital assets, local media reports Russia. 

According to the reports, Cryptocurrencie circulation in the legal sector will be possible only with full identification through the banking system or licensed intermediaries.

Who owns the Central Bank of the Russian Federation-

The Russian government owns nearly 61% of  VTB, and the rest is listed on the Moscow exchange. VTB is regitrated in saint petersburg.

Is Bitcoin legal tender in Russia-

People in Russia not prohibited to possess or transact Cryptocurrency but only via the organizer of the digital currency exchange system. which is a bank with a universal license or P2P exchanger legalised in the Russian Federation , the report added.

In January, the Bank of Russia called for a nationwide Crypto ban in a report that warned about the speculative nature of the industry. The bank also started that finacial firms should not facilitate crypto transactions as part of that proposal to ban digital assets.

However, the proposal generated opppsition from the Russia Ministry of finance. A few days after the central bank's call for a ban, Iva Chebeskov, a ministry official, said that the govrnment should regulate cypto rather than prohibition it entirely. He warned that a total ban might result in Russia falling behind in Technology.

Reports have also emerged that president Vladimir Putin supports efforts to regulate the Country's Crypto mining Sector.
