Mulayam Singh Yadav was born on November 22, 1939 in Saifai. He was one of the most prominent leaders of Uttar Pradesh. He also served as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh for three terms. He also served as the Defence Minister of India. He was elected 10 times as MLA and 7 times as Lok Sabha MP.
His second wife, Sadhana Gupta, died in July this year. his first wife, Malti Devi, died in 2003. Malti Devi was the mother of Akhilesh Yadav.
